Media library and uploads

Your Files library (sidebar: Files) is where your images and videos live. Everything you upload is available across the web app and the mobile app so you can attach assets to posts wherever you are working. Treat it as the shared shelf for campaign assets, product photos, short-form videos, thumbnails, and evergreen brand visuals.

Keeping media in the library instead of uploading a fresh copy for every post has two advantages. First, your team can reuse approved assets without hunting through chat threads or local folders. Second, Styrar can attach the right file to scheduled posts and refresh secure preview links when needed.

Uploading

Open Files and use the upload action to add images or videos. Watch the progress indicator for larger files. The asset is ready to use in posts once the upload is complete and the preview appears in the library.

For best results:

  • Upload the highest-quality source file you reasonably need.
  • Keep file names descriptive before upload, especially for campaigns with many similar assets.
  • Wait for large video uploads to fully finish before leaving the page.
  • Confirm that the preview loads before attaching the file to an important scheduled post.
  • Use platform-ready formats when you already know where the asset will be published.

Uploads can come from the web dashboard, mobile app, or supported integrations. If you upload from mobile, the same file should be available when you return to desktop.

Organizing

Tag and manage your files to keep campaigns and brands tidy. Tags are useful for launches, seasonal campaigns, product lines, creators, or channels. A simple naming and tagging convention makes the library easier to search when your content volume grows.

Remove files you no longer need to keep the library clean and easy to navigate. Before deleting, check whether the file is attached to drafts or scheduled posts. If a file is part of a live campaign, keep it until the campaign is complete and reporting is done.

Company workspaces should agree on a basic folder or tag style. For example, use campaign names for broad grouping and product names for specific launches. Consistency matters more than a complex taxonomy.

Using media in posts

When you compose in Social, pick files from your library to attach to the post. Your entire media library is just a click away from the composer. The composer may show platform-specific rules, such as accepted formats, maximum file sizes, or whether a post can include multiple assets.

Use previews before scheduling. An image that works well on one platform may crop poorly on another, and a video may need a different container or aspect ratio. If you are posting to several platforms at once, check each target before you schedule.

For YouTube or other video destinations, add any required post metadata in the composer, such as title, description, privacy, and thumbnails where supported.

Video notes

Video posts often need platform-ready formats such as MP4, MOV, or WebM. If a clip needs converting, complete any conversion step shown in the product before publishing so the platform receives a properly formatted file.

Different platforms enforce different video limits. A file can upload successfully to Styrar but still be rejected by a social platform if it does not match that platform's publishing rules. When a post fails, open the post detail and read the error context. It may point to duration, size, codec, aspect ratio, or missing permissions.

If your team often creates video, consider exporting platform-ready versions from your editing tool before upload. That gives you more control and reduces delays during scheduling.

Secure previews

Media library previews use secure view links. If an old preview stops loading after a long time, refresh the page or reopen the media picker so Styrar can request a fresh view URL. This is expected behavior for private media storage and helps keep files from becoming public permanent links.

Mobile uploads

The mobile app is useful for quick photos, event clips, and on-the-go approvals. Upload from your device, then attach the same file to posts later from the web dashboard. For large videos, stay on a reliable connection until upload completes.
